I have 20 years of audit and tax experience with mid-size businesses and not-for-profit organizations. I have focused on providing assurance and tax services for companies in the construction, hospitality, manufacturing, and services industry, as well as not-for-profit organizations. I have been a CPA for 18 years and passed the CCIFP (Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional) exam in in 2004. This certification is geared towards those individuals in upper-management and the financial arena of the construction industry dealing with areas such as financial reporting (percentage-of-completion and job-costing), tax planning, forecasting, contractual obligations, risk management, and other areas specific to the construction industry.Most of my clients are privately-held companies or not-for-profit agencies that require audited or reviewed financial statements related to some sort of compliance requirement, whether it be debt covenants as required by their financing arrangement or a state/federal governmental agency regulatory requirement. In addition to providing assurance services to my clients related to their compliance requirements, I believe that obtaining a true understanding of their business is key to be able to provide them with value-added services rather than a commodity. I strive to provide management and those in charge of governance with valuable input related to improving their business's internal controls and operating activities -- this helps me to develop a strong and lasting partnership with my clients.
