Currently finishing my PhD at Northwestern in Prof. Prem Kumars group and will be finished mid-June. My work is in quantum photonics, specifically nonlinear optics in the Center for Photonic Communication and Computing. Duties and accomplishments:• Developed a novel detection system for upconverted single photons • Performed simulations for temporal mode upconversion-selection experiments• Demonstrated upconversion demultiplexing of optical-temporal modes• Built nonlinear waveguide phase-matching profile characterization tools• Collaborated on a project with NU computer science research groups• Served as manager for 3 major instruments by maintaining, conducting repairs, and instructing new users• Served as laboratory safety manager for two years performing quarterly safety inspections• Presented poster results at a conference (FiO) and in 4 published papers

Worked in the Photonics Department at Harris Corporation for 2 and a half years developing electrical and optical systems. Assisted in writing and editing the technical aspects of a patent on a quantum optical detection system through the Quantum Sensors Program.• Developed and administered fiber optics training course• Worked on the DARPA Quantum Sensors Programs (QSP) and other defense contracts• Head electrical device manager (building and maintenance) for QSP • Built fiber and freespace optical detection systems • Managed and performed quality control on subcontractors• Earned a patent and performed writing/editing on the patent application • Presented results at quarterly DARPA meetings

Recipient of an NSF Research for Undergraduates summer grant working under Prof. James Hickan in the NANOPAC Center at UCF. I worked closely with graduate students to plate hippocampal brain cells and guide their regrowth. • Developed methods for in vitro guided neural regrowth of adult-mouse hippocampal brain cells• Maintained cell cultures and performed electrophysiological and chemical tests on cells
