General: Drivers at this grade level operate one or more motor vehicles including platformtrucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks which typicallyhave an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and upto 14,400 kilograms (32,000 pounds). Also, at this grade level drivers may operate passengerbuses or passenger ambulance buses regardless of gross vehicle weight. All of these vehicles areusually equipped with air brakes. Vehicles are driven on the basis of either specific tripassignments or regularly established schedules over public roads (or the equivalent) at highwayspeeds to transport passengers, patients, supplies, materials, or equipment and tools or to towequipment throughout rural or urban areas. Drivers perform operator maintenance on all vehiclesoperated (e.g., monitoring fluid levels, replacing air filters and interior lights, checking tirepressure and hose connections, and washing the vehicle).Drivers at this grade may operate platform, van, stake, and dump trucks in the same manner asdescribed at the grade 6 level except that these vehicles are higher, wider, longer, and heavier thanthose driven at the lower grade level, and carry bulkier and heavier loads which are more likely tofall or shift if not properly loaded and secured or are more difficult to safely dump or spread.Vehicles operated at this level are driven over rough terrain, in close quarters, and in heavy trafficon both long and short hauls.

WAWG/DC is a volunteer position that provides commanders, staff officers, and communications personnel with technical and non-technical assistance and guidance concerning CAP and other agency communications activities. Leads Communications Team, furnishing technical advice and assistance to local CAP units. Maintains close liaison and coordination with unit communications officers for radio communications network requirements, operational and emergency planning, frequency use, safety programs, radio operator training and proficiency, equipment use, and CAP licensing and station authorization and records keeping procedures. Responsible for 961 line items of equipment worth over $600,000 to include maintenance, modification, issue, recovery and documentation of individual issued and fixed equipment. This position went from a full time to a part time/Seasonal/On-call job. Company was reorganized in February of 2014. Company sold off all contracts except for cruise line support. Most workers followed the contracts or found other work. The remainder of the drivers were released. My position was a front-line representative driving and narrating both domestic and international tours and charters. My primary job functions include driving passengers to their desired locations (i.e. Canada Cruise Ship Shuttles to Seattle and winter Ski School charters), narrating tours and orchestrating photo/meal stops. We as Driver/Guides are trained in a comprehensive program to include, Customer Relations for passenger management/safety and Adverse weather training for all conditions. Employment requires Class B Commercial Driver's License With Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake restriction lifted. A Driver/Guide operates 30 to 54 passenger motor coaches, mini-coaches, squires, vans, and cars.I was one of the primary ADA drivers during cruise ship season transporting passengers with assistive devices such as motorized and non motorized wheelchairs, scooters and walkers.
