Mike Sipowicz is a premier hands-on and analytical winemaker, brewmaster & consultant with a breadth of expertise including ultra-premium, luxury wine-craft, winery and brewery start-ups and expansions, formula & product development, still & sparkling wine production, coopering, compliance, troubleshooting and general winery issues; A harvest veteran with an unparallel breadth of winemaking experience; equally skilled at finessing charm and beauty from adolescent third-leaf Tempranillo as he is at making quintessential expressions of cultivar and place, with Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon from Beckstoffer Vineyards or Russian River Valley Chardonnay from the Dutton Ranch.He has passionately crafted still & sparkling wines and exceptional beers since 1992, including six years making ultra-premium, luxury wines in the Napa Valley, in the hallowed cellars of C. Mondavi and Family, Charles Krug and as well Merryvale Vineyards. Mike has honed his skills, sipping experience and wisdom from a vast pool of talent he has worked with over his career; cutting his teeth under the tutelage of an eclectic mix of artisans: Ed Tringali, Kim McPherson, Jacques Recht, Tony Soter, Peter Mondavi (Sr & Jr), John Moynier, Jac Cole, Sean Foster & Stephen Test, to name a few. In addition to an award-winning winemaker and brewmaster, Mr. Sipowicz is a renowned wine educator & speaker, wine judge and contributing author to the book Winemaking Problems Solved and contributing author for international trade magazines.
