CurrentFreelance Engineering Consultant
Consulting power engineer for residential electrical renovations, design of stand-by power generation, design of off-grid solar power installations, as well as Uninterruptible battery backup systems and power conditioning for sensitive electronics.
Controls Engineer
Controls Engineer focused on controls software, HMI graphical interfaces, PLC's, communications, power, and industrial enclosures. My work ranged from modifying code of malfunctioning equipment in small businesses to upgrading both controls and networking for large scale industrial control systems due to aging obsolete hardware.
Power Engineering Consultant

The new facility required numerous electrical upgrades to accommodate the companies needs. Work involved replacing lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, removed abandoned conduit, replace damaged conduit, add numerous 120V electrical outlets, design new circuitry for security system and surveillance system.
Etap Modeling And Scenario Simulations
Provide ETAP modeling and simulation support for engineering of a GE LM6000 CTG addition to an existing generating station. ETAP support entails modeling of a precise one-line, from the CTG's direct-axis sub-transient reactance down to the lube oil heater cable gauge. Then, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and arc flash analysis simulations to verify proper design and equipment sizing.
Combustion Turbine Generator Mcc Reconfiguration
This job's scope was the reconfiguration of MCC's in GE's 1970 style CTG's Control Compartment. This reconfiguration will allow more room for work while improving work and arc flash safety. These MCC's consisted of 125VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC circuitry. My portion of the job was to track down conductor ID's which were unlabeled when the work began and modify existing drawings to correspond to the new MCC configuration.
Arc Fault Analysis
Arc Flash Analysis of the City of Ottawa's Municipal Water Treatment and Waste Water Treatment Plants, along with all there associated facilities. Everything from low voltage MCC's, MSC's, MCP's, Switchgears, VFD's, VSD's, Fused Disconnects, and Panelboards. Medium voltage 5kVA pole-mount to 1500kVA pad mount transformers.
