Interim quality technician

Undertaking quality tasks associated with the production and packing of confectionary, also goods inward quality checking.Ensuring production adhere to written specification, and set standards.

In my current role I am responsible for delivering the quality demanded by the retail and catering multiples. To do this I communicate with all levels of management to ensure compliance with internal and national food standards, and assist production staff to overcome any issues arising within the process that would compromise quality.

Established in 1932 Weetabix Ltd. is the leading British breakfast cereal manufacturer Undertaking quality tasks at both Burton Latimer and Corby sites, Responsible for the implementation and maintenanceof KPI standards.Examines and audits in detail all procedures associated with the manufacture and storage of all products in the interests of food quality, safety and legality.Ensures the pre-determined specifications, applicable regulations and established standards are met with regards texture, taste, colour, with particular attention to weights & measures legislation.Acts as an advisory and technical support service to which ever department requires it, for the whole system (raw materials through to finished product).Acts as internal Auditor for BS 5750/ISO 9000, auditing to BRC, and AIB standards and an in depth knowledge of QA systems, HACCP and weight legislation and processes.Audits all quality related activities in accordance with G.M.P. and Company's Quality and Environment System.Delivering the quality performance demanded by the customers.Investigates all non-conformities to identify the sources of the problem.Makes judgements on products and situations having gathered all information after carrying out an incident investigation. Rectifies quality issues in liaison with production teams where ever possible, limiting plant down time but always conscious of quality issues..Writes detailed and accurate reports, documenting shift activity. Documents all actions taken to illustrate "due diligence" as reports may be used by the company for legal defence.Achievements include writing and maintaining Quality procedure manuals, implementing and aged stock spreadsheet date formula and a stock weight spreadsheet. Have also acted as a trainer for new recruits to the department and was Staff Council representative for the department, for a number of years.Fully conversant with all Microsoft office packages.

Running a department of 15 people with overall control over quality and delivery of the production of Suede products to various customers.
