I am a dual qualified Australian patent & trade mark attorney, and IP lawyer, with in-house experience. I manage large portfolios of patent, design and TM rights around the world, and enjoy all sides of IP practice including prosecution, enforcement and development of IP strategy. I have experience drafting legal agreements which focus on IP (e.g. licences, technology development agreements, NDAs).I have run IP litigation matters before the Australian courts, and assisted in overseas disputes (e.g. in the USA), and apply that experience to deliver more robust IP rights for my clients. I have years of experience evaluating IP, and creating strategies to minimise risk and take advantage of commercial opportunities. I am drawn to a position where I can work closely with others in a team environment, to achieve long term goals using IP. My approach is to operate in partnership with inventors and business personnel and that allows me to enjoy many facets of IP practice (e.g. thinking long-term, developing relationships with a team working toward a common goal, using my pro-active and enquiring personality, and educating team members about the importance of IP).I am familiar with, and have an interest in a range of technologies, including those applying mechanical and electrical engineering. I am particularly interested in medical devices, and specifically neurostimulators. My background is physics (nanotechnology), but I also have a mathematics major and have worked on inventions applying various forms of AI.
