This work also includes the visual and dimensional inspection of flanges/hubs as well as the completion of pre & post machining reports.Machines used – 0 -12” - 0 – 24” silk/mirage externally mounted flange facers - internally mounted 6 – 30” and 14 – 45” flange facers as well as mirage 610 to 1500i.Also used a range of clamshells up to 36” and hydraulic wachs traversable cutters for pipe cuts of up to 3metres.Also involved in the training and supervision of others on various projects.

Brought in to help solve machining problems , reduce NCR’s , improve programs and processes , cycle times and train local workforce on Tacchi Lathe with seimens 840d control , machining of spool bodys of up to 15 tonne for the subsea oil and gas industry (troll , siakap , dahlia and medusa projects). Machining of inconel weld cladding ,turning and boring , roughing and finishing to fine tolerances (+/-0.03mm). Set ups to 0.01mm. VX seals and roller burnishing.

Operator of MOLLART 7 axis gundriller/horizontal borer , with fanuc controls , machining of tapered palms , keyways , p.c.d’s , gundrilling longholes , tapping and all finishing details.Operator of mfd and safop lathes with seimens 640d controls turning steel rolls to 40 tonne.Regular program editing.

Carried out a number of manual/cnc roughing and finishing machining operations to fine tolerances on gas turbine engine discs for aerospace industry using OKUMA cnc lathes , MORANDO VTC lathes , D,S,& G manual lathes and manual surface grinders.Fanuc and siemens controls ,

4 year apprenticeship served - NVQ level 3 . Setter/operator and often programming mori seiki , yam and yasda cnc lathes and machining centres using fanuc controls to produce flow line equipment for gas and oil industry. Also time spent in inspection using cmm machines.
