After a successful presentation to the Board in early October 2020, the decision was made to implement the SAP ERP Phase 3 Project. The scope of this project was to be able to switch the Mainpac system to read only and therefore required SAP functionality to be implemented for Supply, Inventory, Maintenance and Financial Asset Management. The scope included some minor work to enhance some of the Financial Foundation functionality. In conjunction with Functional Experts supplied through Full Circle Partners, this role was to provide the business process knowledge to the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Project team. The project was configured to be executed in full agile mode, with a short design phase followed by a staged rollout by operational project. The project was budgeted to last 12 months, with some contingency to provide for company growth through the implementation period.The project is on target to be complete by the end of March 2022.

Some of the underlying motive to move to this system was due to Macmahon already having implemented the Financial Foundations module and deploying the Success Factors Module

De Beers Marine operated a fleet of mining and survey vessels off the coast of Namibia. The !Gariep used a new mining tool to mine at depths between 90m and 120m. In this role I was responsible for the management of the vessel and its production.

This project was created in order to deliver a new mining tool to the Voyager (later renamed to the “!Gariep). This was the latest production vessel for De Beers Marine, intended to increase the mining rate achievable from traditional “drill” mining technology. As project Manager, I was responsible to take the mining tool from concept to full production.

Complete formal investigations into alternative marine mining methods. This role was created due to De Beers Marine's future production requirements. The goal was to find a mining method and tool that could mine at higher rates that was possible with the "drilling" and "suction box" technology used at the time.

This included the day to day maintenance of the vessels with its mining tools, power systems and diamond treatment plant as well as full in-port refurbishments and modifications. This role was a legal appointment requiring ensuring compliance to the Mining Regulations.
