The responsibilities in this role include the supervision of 15 staff in the daily operation of the cool room. Over the last 3 years this role has evolved to include the identification and investigation into capital expenditure projects. This has led to the proposal to change the current secondary packaging system from crates to one way shippers. This project includes the full automation of the current environment and has the potential to save approx. $1.3m per year.

Macfab’s main clients were various Road Traffic Authorities. Upon my commencement I found that they had no systems in place to meet these Authorities requirements for material and welder trace ability. I designed and implemented a system that would allow for these requirements and also track the projects progress during production. This included labour, quality inspections and weld testing. A side benefit of this system was a cost reduction in the material purchased for each project.
