I currently lead a group that is focused on developing therapeutics for muscle diseases, with an emphasis on gene therapies. Additionally, our group performs basic research to gain a better understanding of muscle disease biology.

I lead a muscle biology lab focused on therapeutic target identification/validation, as well as leveraging novel in-house technologies for the treatment of muscle diseases.

As a Scientist in the Muscle & Metabolism TFA at Regeneron, my role is to identify and validate potential biological targets with the ultimate goal of developing therapies for treating skeletal muscle diseases.

My research was focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms that regulate muscle stem cell function, and how these processes can be targeted to enhance muscle regeneration in response to injury and chronic disease. Utilizing transgenic mouse models and unbiased proteomics profiling, I have identified novel cell-autonomous and non-autonomous regulators of muscle stem cell function that have profound effects on skeletal muscle regeneration and performance.

My work was focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate human skeletal muscle growth and regeneration. Using skeletal muscle biopsies and isolated human myogenic cells, I identified ribosome biogenesis as a critical regulator of load-induced human muscle growth. Additionally, with a team of collaborators, I demonstrated that muscle inflammation susceptibility may be a prognostic indicator of regenerative capacity following trauma.
