Experienced in aircraft sizing and vehicle conceptual design of manned and unmanned platforms through multiple phases of aircraft development from requirements and operational analysis to vehicle system design. New product introduction including project management, strategy, market research and financial business case development. Multiple patents on advanced aircraft configurations and novel system architectures, including the design patent for the 2010 Robert J. Collier Trophy winning X2 Technology Demonstrator, the world’s fastest helicopter. Awarded the Sikorsky Innovator Prize (iPrize) for a technology to reduce fuel consumption of helicopters by a third and now leads the R&D team to mature the design. Launched several advanced proof-of-concept projects, including an all-electric helicopter demonstrator, FIREFLY. Prior to joining Sikorsky, performed research on multi-stage-to-orbit launch vehicle systems at the NASA Langley Research Center. M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, George Washington University’s Joint Institute for the Advancement of Flight Sciences (JIAFS) with NASA. B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, University of Miami . Active member of the Vertical Flight Society, serving on the Aircraft Design and Advanced Vertical Flight Technical Committees as well as on the Student Design Competition Committee and the 24hr Hover Challenge Committee.
