In December 2023 I accepted the role of Strategic Assets Consultant at Woking Borough Council (WBC). Working with the senior leadership team and Commissioners an Asset Rationalisation Policy has been developed which will form the core policy for managing the property portfolios over the next 3 years with a view to reducing both overall debt and future borrowing. An Asset Management Strategy has been developed and approved which will form the basis for a measured and planned asset disposal strategy over a number of years . Previous Experience; In August 2016 I was appointed by the London Borough of Hounslow to act as interim Director of Corporate Property reporting direct to the Leader of the Council. My initial remit focused on restructuring the asset management and property construction delivery teams with a view to reducing the operational deficit of over the next three years.In June 2017, my role was expanded to include responsibility as Lead Director for the Highways, Spatial Planning and Building Control Teams as part of the Chief Executive Directorate. I had primary responsibility for approximately 80 individual staff members including annual business plans and financial probity.I acted as lead officer in all property dealings with Lampton 360 the authority’s arm’s length development vehicle. The team have identified an initial tranche of five sites which will be developed by the joint venture providing as a minimum 40% social housing. I sat on the Heathrow Strategic Planning Group, The Heathrow Advisory Board, The Community Asset Review Board and acted as lead director between LBH and Lampton 360 the authority’s arm’s length development vehicle.In October 2019 and following completion of the corporate asset management plan the portfolio was split into community assets and buildings and a standalone investment portfolio. I now mange the investment team under the treasury team. Concurrently I was also appointed as Managing Director of Lampton Investment the councils residential investment vehicle and Lampton 360 Development the authorities joint venture with Eco world to develop surplus holdings for residential mixed tenure schemes
