This approach was successfully used to identify and bring forward back up compounds without the identified toxic liability.- Project managed a two year collaboration with Cytokinetics to develop a high content cell phenotyping platform using primary liver cells for the early identification of the potential of compounds to cause in vivo hepatotoxicity.- Characterised the mechanism of action of a novel compound exhibiting potent in vivo bone building activity from an unrelated therapeutic programme.- Led the development of high content biology assays using human and murine stem cells for routine compound screening that delivered two candidate drugs for bone repair.- Secured investment for an extensive external in vivo drug reprofiling study of candidate drugs drawn from each of AstraZeneca's therapeutic areas.- Led a collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to evaluate the functional capability of 3D liver bioreactor cultures.- Delivered a platform for medium-throughput electrophysiology-based ion channel screening routinely used in AstraZeneca to front load cardiac liability in compounds.- Oversaw three year collaboration with a Japanese instrument company to evaluate the potential of a novel chemotaxis kinetic imaging system in personalised healthcare.
