Tech Lead—Barnes and Noble College (BNC), January 2016 – Present. Serves as the tech lead on multiple BNC projects. On the LTI web application, responsible for working with the client to design, estimate levels of effort, and develop various enhancements to the application. The BNC LTI web application serves as a proxy layer between external systems such as college learning management systems and BNC systems such as the BNC bookstore.On the Roster Exchange (REx) project, responsible for design, development and support. The BNC REx application extracts course enrollment data by starting separate EC2 instances for each school to process, making LMS specific REST calls and transforming and persisting the data and persists it. On the BNC SOA project, responsible for development and support. The BNC SOA project provides REST endpoints for all CRUD operations needed for the LTI Web and REx applications.Tech Lead—Student Success Plan (SSP), May 2015 – Present. Served as a lead developer responsible for designing, developing, and supporting various business applications on various development teams. As a member of the Business Intelligence team, responsibilities included designing and developing various data warehouse applications for category management and pharmacy departments. These applications were web-based, batch and vendor purchased. The web-based applications included Security Manager, Metadata Manager, Application Manager and Store Performance, which use PL/SQL to dynamically build HTML served up by Oracle Application Server. The batch applications included Security, Campaign Mailing, GNC and Dominant Store, which use PL/SQL, C, Unix Script, FTP and PKZIP to process data nightly in a batch environment. The vendor purchased applications included KD1 RDS and Exchange Valex to perform specific tasks such as market basket analysis, product infinity and campaign mailings. As a member of the Financial Applications team, responsibilities included designing, developing, and supporting various custom Powerbuilder client/server and mainframe business applications for the financial departments. These systems included Money Orders, Daily Financial Sales, Daily Prescription Counts, Flash Management, Pricing, Item, Merchandise Distribution, Location, etc.
