Role includes performing design services for roadway surface condition improvements or pavement preservation including chip seals, pavement overlays, and roadway reconstruction. Bridge maintenance program includes managing bridge inventory with major repair design services and construction management. Managed the technical services division staff to implement transportation improvement projects including: fish passage culvert replacement, bridge abutment replacement, buried bridges, land slide and embankment repair. Close coordination with the fisheries and wetland resources regulatory agencies is imperative during the design, permitting and construction process for these projects as most require agency coordination. Strong relationships with the Oregon Department of Transportation is imperative with the Development Review, Maintenance, and Engineering Groups.

Provided oversight for the County Public Works Department consisting of 45 staff to provide maintenance and improvements for 225 Miles of Roadways, 68 Bridges, 1,200 Cross Culverts, 1 Fish Hatchery, 1 Sewer Treatment Plant, 13 Parks, County Surveyor's Office and the County Facilities (Offices, Courthouse, Jail, and Animal Shelter). Role included providing coordination with the County Administrator and Board of Commissioners on project oversight, budget preparation. Working with external stakeholders for a successful project implementation is critical with stakeholders including: State DOTs, the other five Cities in the County, fire districts, land owners, diking districts and regulatory agencies. Real property, right-of-way acquisition and other contract negotiations were a large portion of the director's role.

Working with the majority of inhouse architects on both private and public projects of both commercial and industrial in nature and varying valuations and complexity. Every project included total civil engineering services for transportation both offsite and onsite, grading and drainage, water and sewer utilities, and erosion and sediment control design.

Milwaukie, Oregon

Completed civil infrastructure design for residential subdivision projects, mainly public utilities and roadways to serve new residential lots. In addition, performed many types of surveying fieldwork, while working on a survey field crew.
