In this role, I applied my technical expertise and project management skills to launch the Astec Burner Systems Group and oversee construction of the manufacturing facility. It was on me to direct the implementation of lean manufacturing methods to develop six burner lines which became the industry standard. I introduced a variety of new technologies including 3-D printing to improve efficiency. I also collaborated with cross-functional teams, including engineers, manufacturing personnel, R&D technicians, and lab technicians.Key Contributions:● Earned reputation for thought-leadership after authoring and publishing technical paper, “Astec T-147: Traditional and Alternative Fuels for Hot Mix Asphalt Plants.”● Significantly improved workflows and overall operations by implementing lean manufacturing and lean engineering processes and methodologies within burner group.
