    The Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery was created in 2013 to meet the strategic goals set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the $4 billion in assistance New York State received to recover from Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee (2011), super-storm Sandy (2012), winter storm Nemo and the Mohawk Valley floods (2013).
