I work on the bone marrow transplant team and collect data for leukemia clinical trials here at the Washington University School of Medicine.

At ISTO Technologies I worked in a clean room environment while manipulating and packaging biological and synthetic medical devices.

I spent 4 months as a full-time research student in Christopher Sturgeon’s lab in the Division of Hematology. Dr. Sturgeon's lab studies the differentiation of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) into hematopoietic cell types, with the ultimate goal of elucidating a method of creating long term hematopoietic stem cells. My day to day activities included tissue culture, basic cloning, PCR and sequencing primer design, PCR optimization, gel electrophoresis and genetic engineering utilizing the CRISPR/Cas system. My primary project was to develop and implement a strategy utilizing the CRISPR/Cas system to genetically engineer an hESC lineage with the gene c-Myb knocked out.

As a medical scribe I worked with Emergency Physicians at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. My duties included following the attending physician into each patient's room and efficiently documenting the history of the present illness, review of systems and physical examination for each patient encounter. I coded the note to the necessary level of information and completed the entire ED visit note including consultations and patient care updates for the physician.

Helped Professor Anne Bergey teach her introductory biology 107 and 108 course and organize/guide experiments in a weekly lab.
