Monitor and maintain core business servers for an international user base of over 4000 people in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Servers are a mixture of Physical and Virtual running on a variety of different vendor hardware: HP, Dell (Blades and standalone), Cisco (UCS platform rack-mounts and blades.) The VMs are backed by VMWare ESXi (various versions from 4.1 to 6.0.) Work with several geographically dispersed vCenter servers to manage the server fleet. Work to configure VMWare hosts and Virtual Machines for use at Solar Power Plant sites worldwide. Provide direct support for the Tempe First Solar Operations Center in support of NERC/CIP compliance. Assist with recovery of physical and virtual machines from Avamar backup solution. Leverage Microsoft SCCM to report on software update and patch management status of physical and virtual machines. Also make use of Solarwinds Orion and Microsoft SCOM to monitor and alert on various servers and network equipment deployed throughout the environment.

Was assigned to The Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET) Office, ADOA, State of Arizona. Emphasis on monitoring and managing VMware vSphere infrastructure in support of the operations of various agencies within the State of Arizona. Interact with new and existing customers that use ADOA/ASET as their managed IT service provider to implement new systems and upgrade existing services. Conduct research on system products, services, and standards in support of system procurement and improvement efforts. Assist with managing security and general monitoring solutions, including anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. Assist with the management of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) with emphasis on deploying software security updates to the installed base of servers. Recommend, schedule, and perform server infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and repairs. Act as lead on small to medium scope projects in support of customer operations. Act as mentor/trainer for other ASET staff as needed.

Recommend, schedule, and perform server infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
