There are many ways to describe the goal of an exercise health professional. Health? Vigour? Well-being? Regardless of what the name and aim might be, achieving that goal alongside those who seek to improve themselves is what I've made my life's dedication. Whether rehabilitating an injury, pursuing remedial effects in an effort to tackle chronic disease, or seeking to maximise the impact of medical treatment intervention – anyone willing to ask for help is deserving of my full ability and expertise.Having been heavily involved in sport for most of my life, it seemed only natural for me to become an Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES), with the goal to continue study to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). Having studied the research throughout my degree, it has become abundantly clear to me that exercise as a medical intervention has been one of – if not the most – critically under-utilised methods for treatment for the last century. As medical science has progressed, amazing technologies and pharmaceuticals have been developed. Yet, the most fundamental treatment available, that of targeted, specific and apt physical activity has been left behind – at least until recently. All of that being said, I am incredibly excited to be starting my career in the exercise medicine field. I am a genuine believer that exercise is among the most effective treatment options available for almost any disease or disorder, and as such should come first-to-mind for any allied health professional when creating treatment plans. My communication skills, both written and verbal, are exemplary. I present with confidence and am constantly seeking to improve my current skill set and learn novel skills. I regularly perform my own upskilling via utilising the formidable resource that is YouTube, in conjunction with scholarly articles, which I use for verification purposes in addition to expanding my knowledge-base.I have a natural tendency towards leadership positions; as a member of my local church, I am currently or have previously been in leadership across nearly every area. Most recently I was appointed (by other members of the church) to a committee to select a new Lead Pastor, participating in the relevant processes over a 4-6 month process. It is my hope that throughout this personal summary an attitude of "service that strives" has shone through. My aim is to be able to help others with the skills, knowledge and abilities that I have gained, with the final result being a capable, condfident and whole individual.
