In September 2023, Mike formed Take 2 R&S LLC, a Risk Management and Safety Consulting Services company.In July of 2021, Warner Brothers secured Mike from TWDC to advance his career in Production Safety. In 2019, Mike accepted a management position at the prestigious Walt Disney Company’s Corporate Risk Management & Production Safety Department. Overseeing multiple productions in the United States and global production aviation acceptance under the Walt Disney umbrella. Bringing with him his unparalleled production and business experience & adding to an already highly diverse team of professionals. Mike Tamburro’s extensive flying expertise dates back to his childhood in the late 1980s under the wing of his father, Mike Sr., at his then-helicopter company, West Coast Helicopters. He began taking control of many aircraft types, living and breathing the aviation business. Spending time on movie sets with his father was mikes greatest joy, and he took it all in. Spending his summer vacations on location for some of the biggest action movies of the 90s, like True Lies & Outbreak. There was no question about what Mike wanted to do in life. At the age of 18, Mike achieved both his fixed-wing and rotorcraft ratings. He then began working for both his uncles, John and Chuck. Chuck Tamburro is known to be one of the pioneers in the film industry for aerial stunts and film flying.With another very fortunate opportunity in 2014, Mike returned to his roots at Van Nuys airport. Now, he is working as VP and Head of Production at the company his father and Alan Purwin founded in 1987. Mike oversaw Helinet Aviation’s four main divisions daily: ENG, Charter, EMS patient/organ transportation, & Production. Mike also worked on the management team at Helinet’s subsidiary company Shotover Camera Systems, overseeing the sales of the K1 & F1 camera platforms and being instrumental in designing the U1 unmanned aerial system.Acting as Alan Purwins's right-hand man at Helinet Aviation gave him the experience of a lifetime managing one of the largest Helicopter companies in the United States.As a member of Sag/Aftra since 2003, Mike has served as Aerial Coordinator on hundreds of commercials, TV shows, and feature films. He has an unparalleled perspective on safety and customer service. As well as the experience and dedication required to represent such a unique profession. Mike epitomizes the “NextGen” of aerial coordinators serving the motion picture and entertainment industry.
