I joined Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) in 2010 and am currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering. I teach foundation engineering topics, such as engineering mechanics and electrical technology, to Year 1 students; applied mechanics and engineering system design to Year 2 students and supervise Year 3 students in final year project and internship. Apart from teaching responsibilities, I also lead the School's Academic Quality team. We ensure that the standards and integrity of our academic processes and assessment practices are upheld by our academic staff, and introduce digital tools to enable academic leaders to appreciate the professional standings of our academics.After graduating from the National University of Singapore, I spent 7 years in the industry as a Mechanical Engineer in PSA Corporation Ltd and then as a Design & Development Engineer in Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd. Following which, I completed my PhD, through research and course work, at Nanyang Technological University before joining NP. As part of my professional development in NP, I completed a part-time Master's course in Education with the Univeristy of Melbourne and a Professional Certificate in Career Coaching offered by the Public Service Division. Currently, I am exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to enhance teaching and learning and how the use of AI in a professional setting can be taught to students.
