Responsibilities included right of way cost estimates, fair market valueappraisals, writing legal descriptions, title searches, acquisition documents preparation, and negotiations.Negotiated with property owners for the purchase, lease, donations, or acquisition ofeasements of real property and/or property rights. Informs property owner of their rights, applicable laws and regulations. Negotiated claims and settlements with owners.Wrote legal description of right of ways and drew scaled plats for filing of deeds.Drafted legal instruments for conveyance of rights of way to the Countyincluding deeds, mortgages, and purchase contracts; prepared recommended resolutions for payment to owners and mortgage owners; recorded documents and orders title insurance. Responded to inquiries, problems, complaints, or emergencies affecting availability orquality of services, providing information within scope of authority. Conducted field investigations to review the routes or sites to be acquired. On many projects, engineering personnel participated in the field investigation with the Right-of-Way Agents. In some organizations, agents are technical consultants to staff members responsible for selecting routes.Researched, negotiated an elected to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Handled all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Worked with contractors for clients to organize, execute daily construction activities with pre-construction, construction and erection of transmission lines within the organizations right of way.
