I serve as principal advisor to the supported Command and staff on all matters related to MCCLL and the Marine Corps Lessons Learned Program. Facilitate communication between MCCLL and assigned Command to ensure mutual understanding and unity of purpose and action. Integrate the MCCLL Program into the normal operating routine at the command and its subordinate commands through lesson manager coordination and training. Gather collection topics from the supported command for input to the campaign plan development process. Serves as collection team leader/facilitator for collections that occur in their areas of operations and which target their supported command (e.g. ACE, GCE, LCE, C2). Assist in gaining command’s approval for collections, participates as collectors, conducts one-on-one interviews with Marines in accordance with the MCCLL SOP, coordinates interview schedules, arranges for transportation and billeting as necessary, and complete any other function that is required in the execution of a collection. Ensures Command Lessons Managers are assigned at the Battalion/Squadron level of their supported Major Subordinate Command and ensure key personnel are registered and have access to the MCCLL Website. Ensure final products and reports, as well as responses to requests for information (RFI), are delivered to the supported commands and their key personnel. Coordinate processing of request RFI from the supported command and subordinate organizations to MCCLL. Participate in the planning of future operations or exercises by providing the planning staff with consolidated and applicable lessons, observations, tactics and techniques, and procedures resident in the MCCLL system. Assess, analyze, and synthesize and report to MCCLL that data and information gathered from the supported command’s operations, training and exercises. Attend conferences, integrated planning teams, operational planning teams, and operational advisory groups as a MCCLL representative.

Served in a myriad of billets from Nuclear weapons security guard, Marine Infantryman, Scout Sniper, Drill Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Assistant Operations Chief, Career Planner, Company First Sergeant, Battalion Sergeant Major, to Commander of a Wounded Warrior Detachment over 29 years of active duty service.
