The 2020 Census Program depends on innovative technology solutions for data collection, data processing and geospatial capabilities. As the Assistant Director for Decennial Census Programs, Systems and Contracts, I focus on the successful execution of 2020 Census activities through the effective executive management of the three Decennial Divisions and Offices primarily focused on information technology, contract management, and geospatial capability. One of two Decennial Assistant Directors (the other covers operations and schedule), I also work closely with the Census CIO to implement and support a common enterprise IT architectural approach. Working across Divisions and Directorates, I combine information technology, cybersecurity, and business integration leadership for the 2020 Census. This includes the development and implementation of the first ever production use of Internet Self Response (ISR), electronic data collection door-to-door using off-the-shelf smart phone technology, and fully electronic hiring and payroll capabilities. I also lead the development, execution, and management of major Decennial Census contracts valued at over $3 billion. I have over 25 years of leadership and management experience in government and private sector positions. I'm a proven senior executive and strategic thinker with extensive information technology, federal budget, financial planning and analysis, and program management experience.
