About Michael Thon
Coming from a mathematics and computer science background, I have just completed my PhD in the field of machine learning at Jacobs University and am now eager to apply my expertise to solving real world problems in industry. I am particularly interested in applying current deep learning methods to tasks in data science or computer vision.While I have gained some experience with recurrent neural networks, the focus of my PhD was on spectral learning algorithms to estimate statistical models for time-series data. I have implemented these methods in the open source "toolkit for observable operator modeling" using Python for convenience and C++ for speed.
