I am a retired Primary School Teacher. I was the Physical Education Teacher for many years at Templeton Primary School in Wantirna and along my journey a classroom teacher too, teaching all Year Levels.I was involved in many successful sporting achievements while teaching P. E. at Templeton PS, even coaching teams in a number of State Finals and even being an assistant coach of a State Team. While at Templeton PS I was able to introduce an extension sports program, where students were introduced to many non mainstream sports or had an opportunity to be coached by some Elite Sporting Greats.I am a Level Two/Association Basketball Coach. When looking back I coached my first basketball team U/8's (lower ring, smaller ball) in 1978 and some of those same kids in AFL later that year.I have had many outstanding coaching mentors along my coaching pathway. Gary Sobers, Frank Tyson to name drop a few as well as Rod Popp who helped me establish my own basketball coaching philosophy.When wanting to be the best Phys Ed teacher you can be, you do many coaching courses. Many Level 0's, 1's and 2's.Netball, Football, Cricket, Basketball and Cycling.. Umpiring/Refereeing too.Many intros to sport - volleyball, badminton, tennis, lawn bowls, ten pin bowling, fencing, la crosse, soccer, table tennis, European handball, bocce, plus some I've probably forgotten.I am still coaching basketball as I really enjoy it.
