As a member of the Machinery Diagnostic Services Technical Leader organization, I provide technical guidance to other engineers involved with machinery diagnostics. I also instruct classes related to machinery diagnostics and vibration monitoring and provide related services at customer sites. I am presently certified to teach ADRE® 408, System 1 Fundamentals, Machinery Diagnostics, System 1 Use and Optimization, Applied Diagnostic Workshop, Advanced Machinery Dynamics, Advanced Field Balancing, and Technical Training Techniques.

As a member of the Machinery Diagnostic Services organization, formerly a part of the Bently Nevada company, provided consulting services in the area of vibration analysis and balancing. Specific assignments included analysis and balancing of steam and combustion turbine generators and other rotating equipment and acting as the site lead for a System 1 support services contract at a chemical plant. Clients were located primarily in the South Region of the USA.

Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Port Gibson, Ms

Provided oversight of the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program at GGNS. Responsible for the vibration, lube oil, and infrared thermography programs. Specific duties included collecting vibration data with a handheld data analyzer (Entek/IRD enPAC 2500), analyzing the vibration data, performing infrared surveys, evaluating the survey results, and trending and evaluating lube oil analysis results. Specific duties related to managing the PdM program included writing management reports on the program, initiating and responding to condition reports, developing long range plans for improving the program, and initiating requests to upgrade equipment related to the program such as continuous monitoring systems.

Provided consulting services in the area of vibration analysis and balancing. Provided consulting and project engineering services in the area of vibration monitoring system troubleshooting and installation services. Specific assignments included analysis and balancing of steam and combustion turbine generators and other rotating equipment, low speed field balancing of turbine rotors, installation of vibration monitoring systems on turbine generators and other large rotating equipment, and calibrating and troubleshooting Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation systems. Clients were located throughout North America and the Caribbean.

Vicksburg Area Engineering Office, Vicksburg, Ms

Provided engineering services for seven gas and oil fueled fossil power plants. Responsible for the vibration trending and analysis program. Specific duties included collecting vibration data with a handheld data analyzer (CSI 2120-2), collecting transient vibration data using a portable system (Bently-Nevada ADRE), trending and analyzing vibration data on critical plant equipment, balancing fans, and working with OEM engineers providing vibration analysis and balancing services for large steam turbines. Assisted plant personnel with troubleshooting equipment problems. Managed other projects as requested. Assisted the project manager during a complete rebuild of a 200 MW steam turbine after a shaft crack.

Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Port Gibson, Ms

Evaluated and developed instrumentation and controls system designs. Led and participated in internal assessments. Led a team that developed a scoping report for upgrading the speed governing system, upgrading the pneumatic trip logic system, and installing a data acquisition system for the standby diesel generators. Developed instrument setpoint and uncertainty calculations.

Nuclear Headquarters, Jackson, Ms

Coordinated engineering support work among four nuclear sites in the Configuration Management, Computer Aided Design, and Computer Applications areas. Participated in project teams that implemented an Electronic Document Management System for the four plants, developed a common 50.59 evaluation process, and developed common standards for Software Quality Assurance. Developed and revised procedures for conducting design work.

Grand Gulf Nuclear Station

Evaluated design and performance of plant systems. Wrote specifications for purchase and repair of plant components. Developed design change packages. Performed calculations for analysis of piping networks, heat exchanger performance, and HVAC design. Developed a computer program to perform cooling tower thermal performance analysis.
