Purchasing Manager for an API 6A licensed choke valve manufacturer in Houston that serves the Oil and Gas Pipeline Industry. Responsible for the purchasing and procurement of material from domestic and international suppliers, inventory planning and management, logistics, product costing, budgeting for procurement, and internal support of sales and production departments. Responsibilities include but not limited to a) inventory optimization and purchase and production planning b)development of new relationships with suppliers in order to diversify and find the best alternatives for sourcing material c) negotiation of commercial contracts for materials, placement of orders for material and services d) entering and maintaining all data in ERP system for materials to be purchased e) develop and manage overall supplier performance in order to improve quality, delivery, and cost of suppliers f) manage procurement plan and pricing strategy to support cost objectives

This was a versatile position that incorporates inside sales, purchasing, production, and accounting. In conjunction with creating cost analyses and quotes for our outside sales representatives, I am in charge of all of the purchasing duties and material management for all goods used in the fabrication of ASME Section VIII pressure vessels, ensuring the correct material arrives in a timely manner at a low cost. Since 2017, I have managed a pipeline of $18 million in finished product in a fast-paced, dead-line-driven environment in which I am challenged to constantly seek out new products and new relationships in order to meet shifting project requirements. I worked closely with team members to communicate project specifications, due-dates of material, in-house deficiencies, quality control issues, etc. I worked closely with the design/engineering department reviewing drawings/designs/ specs, proof reading drawings and B.O.M.s to fill in engineering gaps and ensure resource efficiency. I manage the ERP and work closely with accounting to ensure that items are setup correctly and are charged to the correct accounts and that proper accounting practices are being followed.
