Appointed as an Independent Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Finance Ireland, Ireland's largest non-bank lender in August 2022.

Appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chaircof Studio Retail Group plc,(SRG) with effect from 1 December 2021. SRG was placed in Administration in February 2022 and its principal operating subsidiary, Studio Retail Limited (SRL) was sold to Frasers Group plc. I was subsequently appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director and Risk Committee Chair of SRL in July 2022.

I was appointed as an Independent Non Executive Director of Metro Bank plc in September 2019, becoming a member of the Risk Oversight Committee and of the Audit Committee in October 2019. I retired from Bank of Ireland in August 2018 where I was Chief Executive, Corporate and Treasury Division and a member of the Group Executive Committee since March 2013.The Corporate and Treasury Division formed a key business division within Bank of Ireland Group encompassing both Corporate Banking and Global Markets. Corporate banking services included a full service corporate bank in Ireland and in Northern Ireland, a selective corporate banking presence in Great Britain, property finance in Ireland and Great Britain and a very successful mid-market leveraged finance business in Europe and the US. Global Markets included customer treasury solutions in currency and interest rate products together with the provision of funding, liquidity and risk management services for the Group balance sheet. I was recruited as Head of Banking at Ireland's National Treasury Management Agency to lead the recapitalisation by the Irish State of its banking system and to manage the State's interests in these banks. Following a transfer of these functions to the Finance Ministry, I moved on secondment there in August 2011 to lead the equivalent function.

Operated as Group Treasurer at IL&P during a period of restructuring in 2009/10, having previously been Group Treasurer from 1992 to 2000.
