Here at HiveMind, we have a fascination with industrial automation technologies and an appreciation for elegant, practical new solutions. That's why late last year, we founded HiveMind Automation, LLC to develop a unique approach to material handling applications with unparalleled versatility and functionality in a single, well rounded package. As co-founder and CTO of the company, I perform duties as director of all engineering, including oversight of mechanical, software & controls engineering efforts, and I manage in-house fabrication. HiveMind however, is a unique environment. Working closely with my founding partner to create the technology and HiveMind's strategic vision, our efforts coalesced into our company’s “north star”, which has always been a commitment to quality and value. Networking, operations and quality engineering represent the rest of my day-to-day responsibilities.

Abbott Laboratories located in Irving Texas has been the single best corporate work experiences of my career. I was exposed to a company that has had its share of ups and downs but managed them by implementing programs that target the betterment of not only their customers but as well their employees. I had the privilege of learning how to properly document a change to ensure all aspects of the process was considered before making a change. The project I was assigned was a stand alone unit that had not, until now, been a product offered by Abbott nor their competitors. I created the frame work for this machine, designed and built the Cartesian robot that was the heart of the machine as well as interfaced daily with vendors for a seamless assembly. I was the only hands on engineer for this project. I created the cabling and basic controls layout as well. Last, but not least, I helped program some basic scripts for the machine to perform. I loved working on this project and hope Abbott resumes this module in the future.

• Originally tasked with designing integrated robotic systems for high volume pharmaceuticals. This included total system design with cable routing, control system consideration, I/O for multiple mod bus or Ethernet IP configurations, integration of FANUC robots, integration of ACRV floor rovers, EOAT design, load calculation, FEA analysis, prototyped assemblies and redesigned fabricated parts to injected molding which saved 2 million dollars per line.• Lead a team of 10+ engineers as a Project Engineer to design a completed line for a 200 million dollar project. This included daily review meeting for conceptual design, maintained vendor relationships that coalesced into multiple million dollar purchases, advised engineers on proper design procedures reviewed and released drawings to vendors, maintained and updated strict development schedules and lead weekly updates to senor level management. • Currently leading the manufacturing floor on production of modular lines. This includes leading over fifty employees on daily assembly tasks to hit targeted completion date, overseeing completion of multiple projects, redesigning of faulty components for quick updates and reintegration, planning strict time management tasks that keep quality foremost as well as timely completion, more communication with vendors, following wire diagrams that interface with multiple I/O and controls systems, troubleshooting PLC code, designing advanced organization of fabricated and purchased parts for assembly line processes with Lean processes in mind.

• Lead research and development for robotics hardware design and integration into current working model.• Interfaced directly with customers to determine their needs and implemented feedback into future designs.• Charged with constant improvement in the actuation of robotic end effectors with various interfaces.• Created constant improvement projects that lead to cost reduction and improved functionality.• Prototype design to replace existing components as well as new concepts for next generation robotics, including testing of prototypes and statistical analysis of retrieved data.• Prepared technical documents and procedures that highlight process improvements as well as detailed explanations of new designs and their implementation into production.

• Worked in the senior level design lab as instructor in usage of metal lathes, drill presses, MIG welders, TIG welders, and stick welders.• Fabricated machine parts for professors and university affiliates.• Assisted senior level groups in various projects assigned by local production companies to improve factory performance.• Designed parts from software level through conception.

• Contracted to design carrying system for unspun and spun fabricate in load excess of 1 ton.• Followed concept from force analysis to fabrication.• Tested carrying system for redesign and execution of new product.

• Charged with the maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant staff and aesthetic appearance.• Responsible for replenishing/ordering of fine wines and spirits while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the NC ABC Board. • Led daily meetings that involved staff and upper management/owners which lead to discussions about improvement of staff performance.

• Met with customers daily and placed bids on prospective projects.• Performed all administrative duties such as financial records, payroll, and state required insurance and licensing.• Responsible for routine vehicle maintenance including engine/transmission rebuilds.• Implementation/training/termination of employees.
