Michael has been involved in the Financial Services Industry for over seventeen years, having been General Manager of National Australia Trustees, at the National Australia Bank, holding the role of Responsible Officer and chairing various Board Sub-Committees. He has been part of many senior executive leadership teams with responsibility for diverse global Regulatory change requirements. As a lawyer he has vast experience in Estate Planning, Corporate Governance, Risk, Compliance, Trust, Custody and Philanthropy.His International experience as a Senior Legal Counsel over the last five three years involved US Federal and State Regulators in various due diligence teams which negotiated several acquisitions of mid-sized banks and setting up a US-based banking license. His domestic experience has covered all facets of the law having a vast knowledge of diverse multi sector and multi jurisdictional experience with extensive merger & acquisition, integration and transformation expertise.He sits on various Committees and not for profit Organisations as an Independent Director and Compliance Committee Member.Having recently left Perpetual Michael will continue to provide advice, legal education and papers to his colleagues and peers.Michael is a former delegate of the Trustee Corporations of Australia, now part of the Financial Services Council and continues working closely with the FSC as a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Working Group. He is also a member of the advisory committee for the Victorian Law Reform Commission’s reference on succession laws. Michael is a member of STEP.With proven skills as a Senior Financial Services Lawyer and experience in dealing with boards, directors, senior management, regulators and stakeholders at all levels he has now decided to be driven by the challenge and variety to consistently seek opportunities for continuous improvement and to add value to your business through corporate advisory.
