CurrentAt Building Approvals and Advice (BA&A), our mission is to efficiently manage a comprehensive certification process- getting it right first time, on time. We make sure communication with each client stays open... so solutions are found, approvals delivered and buildings are safe. Building Approvals and Advice has continued to grow from a small family business to an industry leader in Brisbane Building Certification. This involves a high level of collaboration with industry professionals and continual professional development. In this role I have continued to liaise with architects, engineers, designers, town planners and builders and home owners to ensure compliant building work. As a small business operator, I manage staffing, finance, cashflow, equipment and government requirements. I was proud to be nominated "Business Owner of the Year" at the graduation of the Business Mastery Course at the National College of Business in 2013.Recent professional development highlights include attending the World Built Environment Forums and Australian Institute of Building Surveyors Queensland conference. Our work with the Build in Brisbane network was highlighted by Marie OShea of i4 Development in the Queensland Homes Magazine ('An Eye for Design" Queensland Homes Autumn Edition, pp113-117). Opportunities to collaborate with leaders in the Brisbane Construction Industry are an enjoyable part of my role. For example, participating in the JDG collaboration breakfast and industry association awards and events help me keep connected and inspired.
