I began working as a contractor in support to the U.S. State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), Defensive Equipment and Armored Vehicle (DEAV) branch in 2016 after returning from two overseas tours in support of the U.S. Embassy in San Salvador, El Salvador and the U.S. Consulate in Guadalajara, Mexico. While with DEAV, I was responsible for coordinating the logistics for the Armory to include designing and implementing an inventory control system, set re-order points on inventory, place re-supply orders and coordinated the daily domestic and international shipping of agent equipment with the Shipping and Receiving section. For the last several years, I have been working as the Security Logistics Specialist in support of Diplomatic Security's Office of Overseas Protection providing equipment and logistics expertise to Department of State's overseas missions. In this roll, I maintain a worldwide inventory worth approximately $300 million to include weapons, optics, personal protective equipment, and other program issued equipment. Additionally, I provide policy guidance to the approximately 20 contract armorers and logistics staff currently deployed on the WPS contract. Prior to working with the State Department, I was the Operations Manager for a Destination Management Company (DMC) in Washington DC. There, I was responsible for procuring all goods and services to include negotiating and writing all service contracts and agreements. I was responsible for all logistics coordination for approximately 75-100 events per year to ensure event success.Throughout my career, I’ve had extensive customer service experience and increasing responsibility with each position. I have always taken pride in providing the best possible service, whether to internal or external customers, while keeping up with operational goals and guidelines. I am always eager to take on more responsibility and handle multiple tasks well.
