• Research investigates the biology of aging using mouse, tissue culture and in vitro research models.• My research has led to the publication of eleven high-impact scientific articles and has underpinned two successful grant applications, worth over $6MM from the National Institutes of Health.• Have identified a novel tumor suppressor gene, SIRT6, which connects the aging process to cancer development. My research has illuminated the mechanisms by which SIRT6 guards against cancer and promotes longevity. I am developing methods for pharmacologically activating SIRT6.• Experienced with tissue culture, drug discovery, target validation, transgenic animal models, hydrogels, hyaluronic acid and extracellular matrix biology, FACS, ChIP-seq, metabolomics and stem cell technologies.
