Research And Development Engineer (Mechanical)

Clarience Technologies was formerly Truck-Lite Holdings.Clarience R&D Headquarters established in Pittsburgh, PA - April 2019.Duties & Responsibilities: - Identify new technology and develop it from a concept level to a commercially viable technology ready for integration into Truck-Lite products. - Develop statements of work for the applications that would involve taking an existing or new technology to meet the requirements of heavy duty lighting and electronics requirements. - Work with commercial group to obtain clear definition of application(s) of new tech. - Develop validation requirements and work plans for dev. of new tech. - Work with suppliers, university research and development, or customers to understand and develop the necessary technology to solve industry problems. - Collaborates with material suppliers, component manufacturers, outside developers to investigate tech. that provides a solution to a known problem. - Apply working knowledge and experience in problem solving methods. - Apply an understanding of design for cost, test, & manufacturing experience - Knowledge of manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques. - Knowledge of environmental, thermal and mechanical lab equipment. - Apply technical document writing skills using Word, Excel, and / or PowerPoint - Revise and control key engineering documents.
