UMOS was formed in 1965 to serve the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker community, and since has expanded its programs and services to assist people of all ethnic, racial, and linguistic backgrounds who struggle to meet their needs and dream of a better life for themselves and their families. My main contributions can be divided into: - Applying for and administering grants making up $77 million in annual revenue- Managing the social media and website teams- Providing administrative support to program directors via policy and procedure development as well as performance tracking and data evaluation.

My second term of AmeriCorps service brought me to the Blackfeet Nation where I served the Amskapi Piikani Agriculture Resource Management Plan (ARMP), which is a Tribal program whose function is to write Food and Agriculture Code and policy under the authority of Tribal Sovereignty. Without this ARMP in place, policy is derived from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the USDA. As a member of a small team, I engaged in multiple roles. These included communications, grant writing and reporting, as well as leveraging our resources for community specific Covid-19 response.Communications: Weekly email bulletins on Agriculture in the Blackfeet Nation and Indian Country more broadly, sent to all Tribal employees, Blackfeet Ranchers and Farmers, and National Stakeholders. These contained producer programs, scholarships, jobs, and funding resources. This information was then repackaged into distinct, timely social media posts, and also reformatted into longform media in a weekly newspaper column.Presented to the Federal Communications Commission on lack of service to rural america, to a higher degree Indian Country, assisting the precision agriculture working group.Grant Writing and Reporting:I co-wrote several large, successful grant applications to fund resource management across the Blackfeet Nation, and independently wrote for two successful grants that converted local producers ideas into programs that both address their immediate needs as well as build capacity for future resilience.Covid 19 Response:I designed a program and hired staff who went on to enroll producers in over one million USD of needed Covid relief funds.

Primarily focused on maintaining front country developed recreation sites, I was the face of the Forest Service and first point of contact for the general public while in the field, thus providing aid and coordinating with Law Enforcement Officers across rugged terrain and long distances. I served in multiple departments, including River Ranger, Timber crew, Wildlife Monitoring, and Trails.This amounted to a lot of boots on the ground, hard work, and inspired me to one day use my energy and influence to reach farther and accomplish more than what my own two hands could ever be capable of on their own.The opportunity was coordinated through the Montana Conservation Corps, an AmeriCorps program.

I work with other creatives to produce beautiful artwork and marketable images, and choose to promote high ethical standards, transparency, and support healthy lifestyles.I have been shot for print, ecommerce, and editorial, and walked for audiences of over 10,000 people.

I shot, edited, and produced multimedia.In addition to writing script, working camera, and editing footage, I digitized antiquated media as well as wrote technical manuals. Such as "how to" documents pertaining to drone flight and go pro video recording.Projects included educational videos, performances, interviews, and documentaries.

As the Sustainability Peer Mentor at UW-La Crosse, it was my duty to help educate, publicize, and oversee the dispersal of funds for Sustainability based grants from a student allocated fee called the Green Fund. Each semester students and staff may apply for grants to make aspects of the University's Campus more sustainable. Notable past projects include LED lighting installations, high efficiency HVAC systems, and electric vehicle charging stations to name a few. Many have helped university buildings achieve LEED Gold certification.I revamped the student E-waste collection program in conjunction with a local recycling company which removed toxic and reusable materials from the waste stream.
