(Peraton acquired NG Cyber) Served as the network services manager for six teams responsible for the security, maintainability, scanning, and monitoring of the European networks for the US Army located at the Regional Cyber Center in Wiesbaden, Germany. Managed network monitoring and performance, network configuration management, perimeter security, VoIP, vulnerability scanning, and network transport services. Endeavored to solving problems and making those problems easier to identify for our user base of more than 30,000 with over 7,000 network devices. Making complex networks easy to understand and maintain is a daunting task that we worked on every day.

As president I've more than tripled our membership and have expanded our venues. We hit several chapter firsts within the last 12 months...- Exceeded 100 members in good standing- Conducted more meetings per month than in our chapter's history- Exceeded 80 attendees at our largest meeting in MarchHoping to grow even more by end of year! Onsite network management expert and technical team lead for the 5th Signal Command in Mannheim, Germany. My primary function was to maintain and enhance the current network management system and applications, which includes 26 servers in central Europe. Managed approximately 500 user accounts throughout Europe and the US. I also supported Opticom’s iView, Citrix 1.1 for Solaris, Apache, and UNIX support on systems running network management components. Provided customization of our current system for enhanced functionality and helped where needed to other DoD and NATO organizations concerning Spectrum and network management. Developed procedures and policies concerning the operation and maintenance of management systems to create a better operational, testing, and maintenance environment. Designed and provided customized documentation, onsite briefings, and training sessions involving network troubleshooting.

Assigned to the B2 Bomber Weapons Support System at Tinker AFB, OK as an onsite consultant. Traveled to other customer sites to gain a better perspective on how customers are using Spectrum and Cabletron gear. Responsible for network design and maintenance. Later promoted to manage the network with Spectrum and provide monitoring and reports on network utilization on LANs, WANs, network equipment, and servers. Participated in server system design and setup as well as network troubleshooting. With a budget of $1.5M I designed and built a NOC with Spectrum, SPEL, complete with computer systems, NMS systems, all servers, furniture, console switching, and video systems used to manage and monitor the nationwide B2 network.
