Michael Morgan - Managing Director and Head of Taxable Fixed Income, Cabrera Capital Markets Michael Morgan is the Managing Director and Head of the Taxable Fixed Income division at Cabrera Capital Markets (CCM), a global investment bank and institutional brokerage firm. He has over 40 years of brokerage experience, with demonstrated expertise in executive management, problem-solving, and financial acuity, leaving an indelible mark on each organization he has been a part of. At CCM Michael oversees the sales and trading of Credits, Rates, and Structured Products groups. In his role he is also focused on creating robust and sustainable business infrastructure that will allow the firm’s Fixed Income division to flourish. Under his leadership, CCM’s taxable fixed income trading desks transact billions in securities daily while dealing with some of the leading institutional clients in the country. Before joining CCM, Michael served as a Managing Director at Seaport Global Holdings LLC, where he established a treasury trading operation. He also held leadership positions at CRT Capital Group and FTN Financial, where he made substantial contributions to the underwriting and trading of agency debentures, helping both firms achieve leading positions on league tables for agency underwriting. Michael made a name for himself in the industry while working at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, a Goldman Sachs company. For over a decade he built foundational leadership and management skills in the firm’s government bonds division, and quickly became their top trader. As a Managing Director and Special Limited Partner at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg he was involved in the sale of the Government and Corporate Bond Division to FTN Financial. Michael received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. A former lacrosse player on a four-time national championship team, Michael has coached competitive lacrosse for decades. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Defensive and Offensive Coordinator at Mount Saint Mary’s College.
