Jr Consultant with Meraki Labs, a displacement consulting agency focusing on localization in displacement solutions. Completed a BA in Sociocultural Anthropology with honors at UCSD, where I conducted research detailing refugee identity and community formation in digital spaces while being physically isolated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I also volunteered with the San Diego Museum of Us (previously Museum of Man), as well as the International Rescue Committee. I was the President of the Anthropology Club of UCSD and Outreach & Partnership Director for No Lost Generation - UCSD, which focuses on refugee aid. While completing my MSc in Migration Studies at Oxford University, I studied the ways that refugees in Jordan were reconceptualizing their identities after being forced to migrate. My work conceptualized migration routes as liminal spaces where "bare life", communitas, and cosmopolitanism were constantly in flux and playing off of each other. Fluency in English, basic knowledge of Fus'ha and Musri Arabic. Research interests include refugee and migration studies, storytelling, identity formation, meaning-making, crisis and disaster, risk, humanitarianism, and foreign aid, as well as broad language and cultural interests. My research focuses heavily on ethnography and fieldwork experiences. My own experiences of displacement, violence, and homelessness inform my approach and give me a unique perspective on these topics.
