Provide leadership, management and supervision to the information systems office and its staff. Provide guidance and analysis to agency leadership to assist in decisions regarding information technology resources. Develop the strategic plan for the information systems office. Serve as the agency’s liaison for computer technology with the state’s central IT agency, other state agencies and related organizations. Provide direction to the agency’s information security officer. Manage and direct systems application development and maintenance activities, and ensure systems development activities are integrated and promote agency-wide goals. Develop methods for tracking, monitoring and reporting on project development to agency management.

Responsible for uptime, maintenance, training, development of and enhancements to critical small to enterprise level academic, administrative and clinical application infrastructure, including the School of Dentistry’s electronic health record application and databases. Manage the electronic health record and application development teams.

Provided leadership for all aspects of information technology at the School of Dentistry, including electronic medical records, classroom support, instructional technology, application development, data center operations, desktop support, network management, technology training, Internet presence, and evaluation of emerging technologies.

Support the executive director in managing the information technology office. Assist with strategic direction, problem resolution, personnel and performance management while retaining application developer responsibilities. Represent the school on several university-wide committees. Participate on and brief the school’s executive leadership and governance committees.

Design, build and manage critical small to enterprise level academic, administrative and clinical application infrastructure. Configure, secure and maintain web application servers. Supervise installation of third-party web application systems. Interact with a diverse group of stakeholders including school administrators, faculty, students, project sponsors, marketing teams and technical personnel to plan and resolve projects.

Developed and maintained administrative applications and reports for large state agency. Analyzed requirements from application users and worked with project team to write and deploy code changes. Authored and organized systems documentation.

Resolved general computer helpdesk tickets and completed long-term projects for large 500-employee agency headquartered in Richmond with field offices throughout the state. Provided physical and virtual support to field office personnel. Imaged, configured and deployed new computer workstations. Enjoyed meeting customers and troubleshooting technical challenges.
