Our aim is to enable improvements in UK healthcare and we work with partners to deliver bespoke, highly secure, solutions under strict governance and accreditation, We ensure that the right service and support is available at all times, while at the same time being as cost effective as possible.As AIMES' Project Director, I am responsible for the successful completion of internal projects such as the creation of AIMES award winning modular "State of the Art" data centre facility as well as devising, bidding and delivering innovative technology based projects in health, energy efficiency and development platforms for business process improvement . Our current flagship projects, in partnership with leading academic institutions, NHS Trusts and private sector partners, encompass the innovative applications of AI to increase the speed and accuracy of cardiac condition diagnoses and enhancing the effective delivery of mental health care. Most recently we have been engaged in the provision of Trustworthy Research Environments to facilitate clinical and epidemiological research into COVID-19

Sysco is a well established, £10.5m T/O Merseyside Group delivering funded training and consultancy in the UK and Poland. Head hunted from St Helens Chamber in the role of MD for expansion of private consultancy arm of the group in Poland and the UK but the then prevailing economic factors rendered this impractical. Re-engineered business to develop ongoing sustainable solution which consolidated the cost base whilst maximised future revenue potential and then left by amicable mutual agreement, continuing to work with Sysco on the delivery of projects in the UK and wider EU with AIMES.

St Helens Chamber was an £11.0m T/O, 150 employee, not for profit distribution, membership organisation. In addition to representing business interests and delivering member benefits, the Chamber develops and delivers a range of UK Government and EU funded public and private sector projects, both within the borough and throughout Merseyside. Responsibilities included: Working with CE and SMT colleagues to manage the successful culture change from public funded body to private sector delivery and rationalisation/integration of three delivery teams to form new Business and Membership Services operating division to deliver on target performance of EU and UK funded re-generation and enterprise projects within constraints of finance and EU regulations. This included the successful, on time and on budget delivery of a new 30,000 sq ft incubation and managed workspace (including office facility for St Helens Chamber). Management of Information Services (including legal insurance and advice), Business Services teams and subcontractors. Development and delivery of membership products and services. Met or exceeded all operational and financial targets for the projects with full P& L responsibility. Increased paying membership by 50%. Projects involved working with member companies, individuals, private sector companies and public agencies in the UK and internationally to ensure successful delivery of a range of business and economic objectives.

Shawton Engineering specialised in high profile, precision construction and engineering fabrication for the construction, nuclear and energy sectors.As General Manager I was responsible for generating new business opportunities and delivering technically complex projects profitably and on time to major construction companies and corporates including, BNFL, MOD, UKAEA, Rolls Royce Nuclear. Developed and project managed Shawton Engineering’s first European export contract. Delivered profitable business growth from £6.7m to £8.3m, and eliminated losses of £400,000 in £2.6 m turnover division. As MD of Biomass Engineering I successfully managed development of completely new renewable energy project, to “spin off” company (Biomass Engineering Ltd) using external and internal resources including securing intellectual property rights.

In the role of Distributor Support Operations Manager I carried full P&L responsibility for the aftermarket support of specialist equipment throughout the EMEA region including sales of parts and accessories, as well as warranty and service contracts. Delivered effective client support, directly and via third parties to remote locations whilst maximising revenue, and increasing the new and repeat sales opportunities of complete equipment was critical to the success of the role. I managed a team of specialist overseas sales and support staff to develop and manage distributor services, including training, commissioning, servicing and repair, parts sales and all aftermarket support in Middle East and Africa. Re-engineered distributor capabilities throughout the region to both enhance client operations and reduce Ingersoll-Rand’s direct support costs by 50%. Successfully developed and marketed specialist construction vehicles and aftermarket products including air conditioned cabs to increase sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa with P&L responsibility. Developed European sales of dormant product line, from $600,000 to $3.0m over three years, increasing profitability by optimising invetory practices. Managed all aspects of Divisional presence at industry shows across EMEA including logistics staffing, liaising with specialist contractors with event budgets from £150,000 to £2.0m.Completed due diligence on two successful acquisitions and one major JV, including intellectual property rights and post purchase integration, in Europe and Canada.
