During my semester-long externship at MassHousing, I performed legal research and drafted memoranda regarding the viability of proposed affordable housing developments within the framework of DHCD regulations and state law. I also developed presentations on the legal and regulatory framework shaping Massachusetts' affordable housing landscape.

While a judicial intern, I performed legal research on procedural and real property issues, including mortgage foreclosure proceedings, agency law, G.L. c. 40A permitting appeals, and G.L. c. 40B "comprehensive permit" appeals. I also drafted legal memoranda and judicial orders.

Tuscany, Italy

In addition to my role as Trip Leader, as Trip Expert I managed three trip itineraries (Luxury Walking in Tuscany, Cooking and Walking in Tuscany, and Cooking and Cycling in Tuscany), taking the latter two itineraries from the conceptual stage to operational within one year. To achieve this goal, I performed all aspects of trip design and research for physical and cultural activities with the goal of providing the most value for our guests and the company. I also negotiated contracts with local vendors and maintained company-vendor relations on a year-round basis.

Italy (Various Regions)

Truly the job of a lifetime, as a Trip Leader for Backroads, I organized daily logistics for weeklong, active travel luxury vacations involving up to 26 guests while customizing on a daily and hourly basis to meet the full range of guests’ personal needs and preferences. Further, I served as cultural conduit and interpreter for guests in their Italian travels, listened to and resolved immediate guest and vendor concerns, and as I gained experience and knowledge in the field, trained new leaders in logistical operations, regional knowledge, and guest management.

Los Angeles

During my time as a Teaching Assistant, which ran in parallel with my graduate studies in American history, I taught two discussion sections per week of 15 to 20 students each for numerous introductory history courses on subjects as diverse as Ancient Greece and Rome to 20th century American history. As part of my responsibilities, I developed and implemented weekly lesson plans, crafted essay and examination questions in conjunction with the professor and fellow TAs, and diligently worked to improve students’ writing skills, with a focus on analytical essay structure and development of a thesis.

Atlanta

As a Project Assistant in King & Spalding's Tort and Environmental Litigation group, I designed and maintained a comprehensive record system and document archive for to facilitate our firm's representation of a major pharmaceutical company. I also researched and organized requested legal documents, composed exhibit lists, and edited legal briefs in support of the litigation team.
