I was responsible for leading Queensland Health, providing public hospital and health services for the 5million people of Queensland. Divided into 16 Hospital and Health Services that are statutory bodies based throughout the state and a Department of Health in Brisbane, the system delivers services through public hospitals and community-based services. In 2019, the system employed approximately 100,000 people and managed more than $18billion to deliver health services throughout Queensland.

Lead the state wide eHealth and ICT initiatives for NSW Health including the electronic medical record, radiology information system, pathology information system, electronic medications management, iPharmacy, Finance and Human Resource Information Systems, Learning Management System and other clinical, corporate and infrastructure initiatives to improve the delivery of healthcare.

Lead the strategic and operational performance of HealthShare NSW. HealthShare NSW is the ICT and shared services provider for NSW Health. HealthShare is responsible for statewide ICT strategy, operations and programs of new work. HealthShare NSW also provides food, linen, hotel, warehouse, finance and human resource shared services for NSW Health districts and other organisational entities including the Agency for Clinical Innovation, Clinical Excellence Commission, Health Education and Training Institute, and Health Infrastructure.

Led the establishment of the Health Planning and Infrastructure Division (HPID) to bring together health service planning with all planning, implementing and reporting of capital works, health technology equipment and other assets across Queensland Health.Established the new planning strategies to position Queensland Health to sustainably meet the state’s growing healthcare needs using renewal and clinical reform strategies to complement the establishment of new health services. The infrastructure program included three new tertiary hospitals on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and the Queensland Children’s Hospital.Following the problematic implementation of the new Queensland Health payroll system, led the work to stabilise the payroll system.

Led the development of strategy, policy and governance initiatives to drive economic development and meet the state’s strong population growth. Responsible for the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program (SEQIPP), and developing and implementing innovative infrastructure procurement strategies to meet the economic, social and environmental priorities of government (including PPPs)

Responsible for leading the planning, strategy and resourcing to achieve goal to engage Queenslanders in lifelong learning through education and training. Managed the integration of the training and education functions into a single department and was responsible for the planning and performance of education and training outcomes.
