About Michael Wara

My work focuses on energy, climate and wildfire policy, and on the role of new technologies in the electricity sector and environmental justice. I am a lawyer who collaborates with scientists, engineers and economists to develop insights, tools, and solutions that improve the state of the art and are policy relevant. I advise policy makers on complex issues in the energy and climate space providing fact based, neutral guidance in developing sustainable policy solutions from electricity market design to federal wildfire policy. To achieve that goal, I build cross-functional teams that solve real-world policy problems using cutting edge analysis in service of better sustainability outcomes. I also manage projects for our Sustainability Accelerator, helping scientists and engineers to conduct research on the frontier of global sustainability challenges and that is grounded in real world problems.
