IvyMind is an online-optimized educational enrichment company using a blended learning platform to cater primarily to ESL Chinese high school students with ambitions of matriculating to tier-one colleges and universities in the U.S. ● My main responsibility is to design, implement, and manage curriculum for IvyMind’steaching team of 15 nation-wide educators. ● Interface with the education team (as a group andone-to-one) exclusively through the Zoom cloud platform. It's a mentor/manager position. ● Designed an on-going eight week enrichment course for high school students focusing onshifting rhetorical modes, from the purely personal to highly academic textual analysis.Class is currently enrolled with 41 students. ● Work one-on-one with students to create a fully realized and polished college applicationessay. With them from the initial brainstorming phase to the final submission. ● Work with parents to liaise with the school’s college counseling team.

Navia is a third-party administrator of FSA, HSA, and transit-benefit accounts, serving a wide array of public and private sector employees across the U.S. On a contract basis I provide on-going writing and communication mentorship for their “rising stars”: middle managers with high upside but no college degree, and thus some of their communication skills need polishing. Before COVID, this coaching was twice weekly on-site at Navia's Renton office, but the virus has put this on hiatus for the most part, though Navia has expressed a continued interest to restart in-person guidance once permitted by the county to do so.

Revamped and taught 9th grade Foundations in Composition, a year-long English core requirement. Researched, prepared, proposed, and taught two 11th/12th mixed-grade semester-long English electives, one in the fall (Gothic Literature) and one in the spring (Narrators and Narrations). Served on a faculty and staff committee whose aim was reworking the meaning and oversight/execution of the "other duties as assigned" aspect of the faculty contract.

Designed and taught freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior level English classes. Courses stressed historical context, literary analysis, and valid argumentation skills. I was the newspaper advisor starting in Sept '09, as well as involved in the district's beta-study team as we transitioned to a district-wide standards-based grading and teaching model.

Taught two sections of American literature, plus one section of creative writing and one history class on American Modernism. Stevenson is an independent college-prep school that serves students with learning disabilities and social/emotional difficulties.

Developed sources, researched and reported weekly on investment strategies in the public and private defined benefit and deferred compensation industry.

Taught freshman and junior year English. Developed and implemented curricula focusing on literary interpretation and analysis of the short story. Co-advisor for the school newspaper as well. State certified to teach the Ramp-Up curriculum.
