About Michael Wegner
I have always enjoyed solving problems and helping people be the best version of themselves. While I have had many roles in my time in the military along with more experiences and successes than I could ever list here, these two roles are my passion, and I believe, the foundation of a great team. I love my current job, where I get to mix operations management, data analysis, program management, and taking care of people in one job. I like to define it as elements of operational design thinking within a military human resources model. I’m motivated and inspired by being a leader and being able to solve people and organizational challenges every day and I find it very rewarding. My career pathway has provided me years of practice, reflection, and refinement of my skills and attributes. I continue to be rewarded daily by my experiences from managing to leading, from overseeing and developing small to large teams, and from managing small to multi-million dollar programs and projects; at all levels. I admit that I also like to win, I love the satisfaction of solving problems and deconstructing complex problems, and I thrive on helping someone with a problem, and seeing my team succeed. But while I may get excited about working with data or overseeing a project, I always remind myself that it still comes down to people. What strengths and passions would I be excited to bring to an organization?• Managing and leading people• Human resources management• Program and project management• Operations management• Cross functional/organizational collaboration• Data analysis• Strategy, policy, and compliance• How can we get to Yes!And the soft skills that an organization should expect from me?• Integrity• Dependability• Emotional intelligence• Critical thinking• Adaptability• Excitement to learn• Team approach, centered on inclusion, empowerment, teamwork, and belonging
