CurrentAs Vice President of Ferrara Buist Contractors Charlotte Division, I strategically lead and oversee construction, operations, staff, teams, and projects. I work with the Managing Partners to set achievable goals by utilizing my skills, experience, and best practices, assist with site evaluations for future investment group developments, assist with evaluation of prospective projects, create control budgets, and letters of intent. I lead efforts to attract and hire competent team members. I coordinate, lead, and inspire Teams to accomplish strategic goals, and develop and encourage the Ferrara Bust vision, work culture, and values.I communicate with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, etc. at appropriate intervals so all are kept apprised of progress, and needed inputs are delivered. I lead teams of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Preconstruction and Predevelopment Managers, Estimators, Administrative Assistants, Construction Managers Superintendents, etc. I manage risks and strategically avoid and mitigate problems. I oversee budgeting, schedules, RFI’s, manage and negotiate claims, change orders, maintain strong working knowledge of contract documents and ensure compliance, monthly project applications for payment and submit to Owner / Architect for payment. Support Preconstruction Managers with project buy out, review, approve work orders and purchase orders. Support Estimators with control budgets, preliminary estimates, and final proposals. Review and approve work orders, purchase orders, drawings, submittals for RFI, ensure projects are being completed timely and in accordance with contract documents. I visit jobsites, support and direct Team's work, ensure Managers are maintaining the project schedule, safety protocols, and direct corrective action where needed. I train our team in use of construction management software. I ensure project budget goals, and adoption of best practices.
