This required a degree of flexibility with delivery styles and ability to adapt to a wide range of audiences. - Understood, supported and planned for the collaboration of the client organisation and emergency service organisations to ensure an effective system is in place in the event of a major incident.

- Ensure ANSTO satisfies its obligations for response to all emergencies occurring as a consequence of its operations- Conduct risk-based preparation for response in relation to emergency management capabilities of both current and proposed operations- Manage the ANSTO Emergency Response Team (ERT) contract- Support and direct the ANSTO Incident Control Team- Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to; supporting emergency roles, staff, executive, Crisis Management and Business Resilience teams- Ensure ANSTO’s ERT and other staff are suitably trained to carry out their roles- Maintain an awareness in regard to radiation and nuclear preparedness and response- Manage and maintain the preparedness and capability of the ANSTO Emergency Operations Centre - Support ANSTO business units and licenced facilities in maintaining and testing their local emergency management arrangements, including assisting and coordinating emergency drills and exercises- Ensure emergency response and training activities comply with ANSTO WHS management system, regulations and other policies and guidelines- Maintain ANSTO’s Emergency Management Plans and associated standards, guidance material, alarms and training resources in accordance with legislation and international best practice- Ensure effectiveness of ANSTO’s emergency response arrangements through continued development, review and improvement as Chair of the Emergency Management Planning and Review Committee and as a member of the ANSTO Business Resilience Standing Committee- Represent ANSTO as a subject matter expert at local, state, national and international forums and ensure ANSTO emergency response arrangements are compatible with best practice

Operations and Emergency Management Officer (Sutherland Shire Police Area Command)- Responsible for the overall emergency management portfolio of the command, including the review of emergency plans, standard operating procedures and evacuation arrangements, development and coordination of operation orders designed to increase public safety for high profile multiagency searches within the Royal National Park. Sutherlands Shire PAC representative at Local and Regional Emergency Management Committees.Alpine Operations Unit (Monaro Police Area Command) - A selective unit within NSW Police Force – this role involved being on call 24 hours a day to lead multi-agency search and rescue operations within the Kosciuszko National Park. In this role I completed extensive training in leading multi-agency teams, navigation, helicopter down the wire, roping and vertical rescue, snow survival, first aid, risk management, emergency management, incident management and search techniques for missing person behaviour.Team Leader/Supervisor- Throughout my career I led teams of police and was the senior contact point at a range of situations, from serious motor vehicle accidents to critical incidents and siege situations. I learned a great deal about managing people, how to remain calm under pressure and how to be confident in my ability to make decisions. - This role gave me significant experience in investigating workplace injuries, internal complaints, interviewing new recruits prior to employment, and speaking on behalf of the NSW Police Force at various emergency management meetings community events and in positive events such as presentations to schools and wreath laying at ANZAC ceremonies.

- As a Retained Firefighter my role included attending emergencies involving fires and hazardous materials; confined space rescues; roping and height/altitude rescues along with motor vehicle accidents and a significant amount of community engagement.
